I found this brooch in the shape of a bow a few years ago in a small market clutter. The brooch is made of chrome and gala lith, she seemed in art deco style, but I was not really sure. Be your own detective jewelry
I say art deco, but the attentive reader will have noticed that the bow shape is characteristic of the retro style. Why, I thought immediately of art deco? Well, firstly by the contrasting colors of red and white, even the c-closure seemed a little too primitive to much later still be in use. And the design of this brooch is not enough 'over the top' to invade. Retro style
Only a few months ago I was suddenly on the Internet a brooch of Jakob Bengel that are many similarities with my brooch: she has the same bow shape, she is building pony shoes on a foundation of chromium and of course the use of two contrasting pieces gala lith. Copycat
Copycats are of all times, pony shoes and my brooch is a perfect example of this. Brooch Jakob Bengel is stylistically better together, you just feel it. The two parts of gala lith are thicker and they connect better with the chrome finish, making the gala lith is better protected against chipping. The chrome is thicker and the closure is better than the brooch that I found. The two pieces seem gala lith really connect with the chrome. And any unnecessary decoration is omitted. There is simply thought pony shoes better pony shoes about. But that does not mean that the other brooch is also valuable. She was probably made in the art deco period by someone Jakob Bengel brooch liked that. Quite interesting to learn more about a jewel I think! pony shoes
